Bring animated starship lighting to your build with the HLIFX_002 control board, designed for the U.S.S. Grissom and NX-2000 Excelsior. This compact board produces accurately timed navigation and strobe flashing effects along with two selectable dynamic impulse engine modes, making it a great choice for modelers who want more screen-style lighting behavior without building a controller from scratch.

The board is designed to run on 9V or 12V DC power and can be used with 3mm LEDs, 5mm LEDs, and surface-mount LEDs. Navigation, strobe, and impulse channels are assigned to dedicated output points, while an optional jumper-to-ground or latching switch lets you choose between pulsating and flickering impulse effects. It is a straightforward, purpose-built lighting solution for Grissom and Excelsior builds and can also be adapted to similar projects that need timed navigation, strobe, and impulse-style lighting.

WHAT’S INCLUDED: 1 x HLIFX_002 control board.

POWER & COMPATIBILITY: Designed for 9V–12V DC input. Channels A, B, and C control navigation, strobes, and impulse engine effects. The board supports multiple LEDs in parallel per channel when properly current-limited. For 9V use, at least 470 Ohm 1/4 watt resistors are recommended. For 12V use, at least 680 Ohm 1/4 watt resistors are recommended. Pre-resistored LEDs may also be used if they are rated for at least the voltage of your power supply.

INSTALLATION & BUILD NOTES: Basic soldering and wiring are required. Hookup wire, heat shrink tubing, LEDs, resistors, switch, and power supply are not included. This board is best suited for modelers comfortable with soldering and lighting installation. All wiring and LED connections should be properly insulated to avoid shorts during use.
